Meet Our April Spotlight: Taylor Berge, M.S. CCC-SLP

I am honored to introduce our April Spotlight, Taylor Berge M.S. CCC-SLP!  Taylor is being recognized because her school has reported that she has provided amazing services to their district.  Personally, Taylor is a therapist who has been so rewarding to watch.  Each month she thinks of things to add to service excellence and always steps up to participate in new opportunities such as the DotCom Therapy Mentorship Program.

Here is a little more about Taylor:

1.) What made you want to become a speech therapist?

My aunt is an SLP and her first child was diagnosed with Cri-Du-Chat Syndrome.  I was able to watch how she worked with him and how much potential he had, despite what doctors had told us about his limitations.   I developed a passion to help and be a voice for those with special needs whose capabilities are often misjudged.  I also have a love of learning neuro and am a complete nerd when it comes to studying the brain.  Being an SLP combines all my passions into one amazing job of helping others communicate no matter what the way is!

2.) What made you want to join the DotCom Therapy team?

Originally, it was because my husband and I had to make a move out of the country.  I wanted to be able to continuing seeing kids and helping.  DotCom gave me the opportunity to keep working given our circumstances.  Now, my reasons for being with DotCom include the amazing work environment, the close supportive team, and the fact that teletherapy is an amazing avenue to seeing those with speech and language needs!

3.) What has been your favorite thing about teletherapy?

Remote life is amazing!!  Being in the comfort of your own home and having the extra time to be productive. Also, unlimited materials at the click of your fingers is such a time saver and helps make planning so much easier and individualized.

4.) Fill in the blank.  When I’m not working, you’ll most likely find me….

Watching re-runs of FRIENDS, drinking coffee, spending time with my husband and dog, organizing random things, or at a sushi restaurant.

Taylor, thank you for your commitment to service excellence for your school and to the DotCom Therapy team.  We appreciate you!
